Our top 5 tips on how to take care of your candle.

Who would have thought there'd be a correct way to maintain and look after your candles. These simple tips will help your candle burn longer, create a strong scent, and make the most of them.  Here are 5 simple ways to look after and light your grace & co candles.

Burn new candles for at least 2 hours.

Burning your candle for at least 2 hours will create an even burn where the wax melts evenly. This way the wax doesn’t tunnel, create memory rings, and only burn through the centre. Ever wonder why the wax tunnels? It’s because wax has memory and this is the reason when you relight your candle, it’ll tunnel again and burn the same path. Having a deep and even wax pool will also create a stronger scent. The bigger the pool, the stronger the scent.

Always trim the candlewick.

After the first burn, it’s important to trim the wick before relighting your candle to avoid a mushroom of ash. If you find any black residue on the glass, it’s a clear indicator to trim the candle. This can overpower the scent of the candle and smoke the room for a bit.

Use a candle distinguisher to distinguish your candle

It’s okay for a birthday cake to make a wish, but try not to blow out your candles to avoid hot wax splattering.

Keep your candles in a dry and shaded place.

Placing your candle in the shaded area will help to maintain colored wax. Direct sunlight will melt the wax, liquify the candle, which will reduce the quality.

Burn your candle for at least 3-4 hours.

A minimum of 2 hours is great, but 3-4 hours is ideal so that the scent and aroma through your home are stronger. What’s great about grace & co candles is the scent lingers well after they’re distinguished.

Following these simple tips will help make the most of your candles. Grace and Co have several candles to compliment your home decor and have gorgeous scents to linger in your room. Check the Genesis Range to find the candle for you.
