Grace and Co Boutique - Our Story

“One of the huge mistakes people make is that they try to force an interest on themselves. You don’t choose your passions; your passions choose you.” – Jeff Bezos.

Born in China, I lived a substantial amount of years in Singapore, then set out for Australia.
From there my friends and I decided to take a trip to New Zealand and what started off as a holiday ended up as a new beginning for me. I took a leap of faith and eventually moved over to NZ, a place I now call home.
Before migrating to Auckland, New Zealand, I worked for a large American multinational company, and travelled the world. During that time, I never once imagined myself running a business let alone hand making each product from the comfort of my own home.
From meeting my husband Richard, to realizing my passions you can say that settling in NZ has been very eventful and quite exciting. One exciting moment I’d like to share with you all is the day I turned my hobby into a business venture. This is the day I went from being “Fiona Yuan”, to “Fiona Yuan, Founder and CEO of Grace and Co.
I started off as a bee keeper, making honey and eventually fell in love with candle making. From candles we added Christian gifts to our growing range of products and services including floristry. It’s been such a wonderful challenge as I’ve found a way to express myself through my craft and display my love and devotion to God also.
Being a Christian, my faith sits at the center of all my ventures, thus when we originally started Grace and Co, we envisaged that it would be a source of support to various Christian communities and charities in New Zealand. We are blessed to be able to donate a percentage of our profits to charities and give to those in need.
Shining light Community Trust a non profit New Zealand charity, Hearts for Makamba based in Burundi Central Africa and Christians against Poverty (CAP) are charities we donate to.
Our vision for Grace and Co was never about the profit but rather the people. It is my prayer that the candles and other products I make, bring happiness, hope and warmth to others as well as change the ambience of any room. We hope that our products will greet you with a beautiful aroma and make you feel positive, filled with hope.
